Dearly beloved, my fucking enemy, I have to ask you about that remedy. Do you believe, really, that shit? Natonal glory, this fucking story? Dearly beloved, I’ve been here before, trying to warn you about your foe. It's your nanny, you fucking moron, a treat for soil, labor, and sorrow. You're the puppet, and she's the master You're the jester, and she, the Queen. You stupid fucker, the world disasters, they are the lords, but you're the ring. Dearly beloved, my loving friends, don't let 'em throw ya these killing fens. Target’s the head, your dreams, my dreams. Don't kill my dreams. I'm stll a kid. Dearly beloved, please fucking wake up. It's not too late for your mind to make up. You have the power. You have the reason. Convict 'em, now, of high treason. You are the puppets, and they're your masters. You've been the jesters, and them, the kings. You stupid fuckers, the world disasters, they are the lords, but you're the rings

Poor Choices 05:47
Driving my car Night in the city The streets are empty. The air is thick. I thought I saw you Oh, that’s a pity Just for a moment felt like a week. I hit the breaks My head is spinning. Is that the ending or the beginning? I scream your name You hardly breathing Into my arms I think you ‘re leaving. Sweet smell of youth You’re in your glory I know, poor choices make rich stories.

Shape 05:05
How did I get here, Am I lost? I'm not a human or a ghost Babe, I'm a shape. I'm an oval. Maybe I'm a coffee-bean and I feel so sad Knowing that you like me so bad you will finally crush me Baby, I'm a shape, but with you, I'm lost. I'm not a human or a ghost Babe, I'm an oval What if a feather I am? Dip me deeply in your ink, Baby, let me draw oh, your darkest dreams. Maybe, I'm a leaf I have roots. I have no trees. So kiss me, treat me sweet, my sternum dew to cool your lips. Baby, I'm a shape, but with you, I'm lost. I'm not a human or a ghost Babe, I'm an oval. What if a feather I am? Dip me deeply in your ink, Baby, let me draw oh, your darkest dreams.

Sisyphus 04:49
My man, you did it! You seduced death. You tricked him with your thick breath. You had him chained on your back but then you run, run out of luck. You never laugh. You never cry. Just push the rock. You never die. Heaven and hell were empty, as well. Good or bad, Death must be back. They found you deep in the woods. God let them dogs unleash. Death released. Devil and God got really mad. Without death, the world went bad. Good rotten souls, bad beating hearts. Old people, tired. Humanity collapse. You are condemned to push a rock Onto the mountain's highest top. And if you make it to the top, The heavy stone will always drop. Devil and God got really mad. Without death, the world went bad. Good rotten souls, bad beating hearts. Old people, tired. Humanity collapse. You never laugh. You never cry. Just push the rock. You never die. You never laugh. You never cry. And as you wished you never die.

Silence 03:49
Your breath, I listen you sing, I dance you move, I wait too fast, too late… Last night, I saw you you were so empty you seemed so scary I'm scared, you run! Silence… Silence… Behind those doors there was a castle I saw it moving You saw that too Behind those doors the dogs are sleeping don't shout but run too fast, too fast. Silence… Silence… Where did you go? Where did you go? Where did you go? Where did you go? Don't cry for help in the moving castle. The dogs will get you don't scream, just run! I wish you listened They sing. You dance. They move. You wait. Too fast, too late. Where are the doors I can't remember the moving castle the sleeping dogs. Silence… Silence… Where did you go? Where did you go? too fast, too late Where did you go? Where did you go? too fast, too late Where did you go? Where did you go? too fast, too late Where did you go? Where did you go? too fast, too late Silence… Silence… Silence… Silence!

War 04:09
I never refused to lose my shadow became a wolf and kill the lamb. I gave my life for what was fair oh, even though I didn't care Of all the moments one still remains the cold wind blowing on my frozen face It was my life I gave for nothing On the frontline, the wolf is dead Mother don't cry Won’t bring me back I was alone, in this attack Mothers don't grief There is no relief We die for nothing Nothing there is. Father, don't cry, it is your fault You made me kind in a cynical world The war at the door, your good shoes you wore A matter of honor, or a greedy whore? It was my decision No one to blame I threw myself into the flame If only I knew what would it cost I'd keep my shadow, I would not be lost I would not be lost Mother don't cry Won’t bring me back I was alone, in this attack Mothers don't grief There is no relief We die for nothing Nothing there is.

Thank you For coming to my rescue where the rain falls For a split, second whispers thrive. I'm the whistleblower I'm whispering soundless words in the dark… Thank you for coming to my rescue Sweet September rain I've been in trouble since the whispers thrived I'm the whistleblower. I'm whispering soundless words in the dark I'm whispering I'm the whistleblower For a split second, as if something happened, whispers thrived. I'm whispering soundless words in the dark I'm whispering I'm the whistleblower

Wicked Wish 06:36
It was his wicked wish to walk among the sheep He rolled into her sheets It was the devil's breed She was a virgin daughter He swept her off her feet. He set black hell on fire She set his spirit free. If she's the fish, he is the sea If she's the tree, he is the land The devil's breed, the mourning sheep The wicked wish… She kept this world together How heavy of a task… He was to change the game to set the world on track The ends should intersect, but right and wrong are pending The world should still make sense in this story ending. If she's the fish, he is the sea If she's the tree, he is the land The devil's breed, the mourning sheep The wicked wish.

about

What does "Shape" sound like?

"Shape" is Jester Syndrome's first LP album.

Between staccato post-punk/dark-wave drums (Eva) that even cross over into classic rock, a dark-dark-wave voice (Dimitris) jumps out and adds emotional elements,
while another voice (Stella) fires flaming arrows of rawness and post-punk energy,
and a third voice (Eva) renders a strange doricness when it appears.

A bass (Vasilis) with raw drive and a progressive vibe has a lot to say and doesn't get stuck in its typical role.
The lead guitarist (Jerry) has a style all of its own, moving towards blues-rock
with catchy melodies but also with rockabilly-surf-rock leanings.
Add to that a good dose of powerful and Dorian rhythm guitar (Dimitris), and you think that's it, but no.

The last and most special ingredient is the electric cello (Stella),
a mix of classical music and paranoid post-punk coexistence
that you don't know where it comes from, and that makes this creation so special.

And all this was put on poetic verses (Eva) that will speak to you,
gloomy, tender, sometimes direct, and sometimes they'll put you in front of yourself
to think about the war, your love, your desires, your place in the world,
but also to doubt it.

Well, if you want to dive deeper into the lyrical richness of the album,
maybe the person looking at you on the cover (by Giota Simou)
might have some answers in his gaze.
